Cruisin' the Bahamas

Brent and I spent our 10th wedding anniversary on a cruise.  It was the first cruise for both of us.  We had a great time for the week without the kids.  Thanks so much to all the grandparents who came and took care of our kids while we had some time away.  Her are a few pics.

This is Coco Cay, Royal Caribbean's private island.

We did some snorkeling .  It was beautiful!  The water was so clear and the fish swam so close to us, we could reach out and touch them.

On Nassau we ate these delicious yellow-tailed Groupers.  They have a distinct flavor, much more so than salmon or cod.  Still deep-fried with fries, they are yummy (see picture below).

This is Nassau, the capital of the Bahamas.

We went on a mini-sub.  There were windows all around the boat and they drove over the reefs so you could look out at all the sea creatures without having to get wet.

Fort Fincastle was built in 1793 and has some small dungeons and cannons, although the battle never came.

This is Paradise Island which is just over the causeway from Nassau.  Neither of us had ever seen such a soft white beach, even Cocoa Beach doesn't compare.
