Quick Update

I thought it a good time to do a quick update on each of our kids (keep up with the Lyons) as well as let you know what is happening around here.

We have a sprinkler system scheduled to be put in on the 13th of this month (your welcome Brent:) followed by us laying sod. Brent's trip to Florida was cancelled yesterday and he will likely go in a couple weeks.

Lillie is starting kindergarten in the fall and is too excited. She is learning to read, although when I say learning that is not quite what I mean. She wants to already know everything. When you try to help her she just makes up words based on the first letter of the word. She reads words exclusively through sight, she dislikes sounding them out. It is all or nothing with this kid. She either knows it or she pretends to. If you try to make her sound it out she gets upset and asks to just be told so we can move on. She is in gymanastics and is still enjoying that. She starts a preschool city soccer league tomorrow, which I think she will enjoy. She is growing so big and getting so independent. Lillie yesterday during conference looked up while I was crying and asked "Why do you have eyedrops in your eyes".

Emma has made it into the terrifying 3's, and despite this is still a sweet girl. She comes up all the time, plants big kisses and gives big hugs and says "You are the best mom ever". She also loves to cuddle (we call her Emma cuddlebug) and she will touch her hand down the side of your face and say "I love you" and squeeze you tight. It sure is rewarding!!! Emma and I had the flu earlier this week together. I told Brent I wanted to cry because I felt terrible but I couldn't because my 3 year old hadn't broken down yet so I couldn't. A little later she came in and was very sad that her tummy still hurt. I had her come right over and we were sad together (although there was some laughing). Another day she asked if we could have another sleepover in our room (we let her sleep in our room while she was throwing up). Dad replied we just had one, "a puke-over" and we weren't planning another one any time soon.

Abby is feeling much better since getting on her antibiotics for her ear infection. She has gone back to being our happy girl and our ravenous one as well. She is starting to stand quite well and the other day she took a few steps with the push walker all by herself. She still has no teeth, but she has huge bumps all over her gums where the teeth are ready to explode. One morning she will wake up and have ALL of her teeth, I just know it.
