"I'm Batman"

Katie and Brent where watching some HISHE together and she started repeating the catch phrase "I'm Batman".  Notice how her eyes change every time she says it.  Oh and at the beginning she is saying "I love you."  She loves her dad.

Just for reference...

Katie

Katie just turned 7 months old and has learned to sit unassisted.  She thinks it is pretty neat except when brother sits super close to her (she has learned to fear the boy) occasionally knocking her over.  Katie is so loved and gets so excited when any of her siblings pay attention to her.  She also loves jumping in her bouncer and is starting to stand when you hold her hands.  Brent and I wonder if she will be like Lillie and go straight from sitting to walking.  She is such a sweet girl and we love having her in our family.

Ryan Turns Three

These are a few of his favorite things:
Cars-all things cars
Sayings: "You're rude!"
Food: Ramen noodles
Playing outside
Apple juice-which he drinks all day long

Katie Coots

Since bringing Katie home Ryan has been a doting big brother.  He asks me all the time, "Katie coots (cute)?" to which I always respond yes.  He says it over and over again probably because he hears other people compliment that our baby is cute and hears the girls and mom and dad tell her she is cute.

National Parks

This year we made it a goal to visit as many national parks as we could.  We started in Moab with both Arches and Canyonlands.  The following month for Ryan's birthday we went to Capitol Reef. Two days after returning home I took a pregnancy test just to "ease our minds" since I was a couple days late.  Mind not eased!!!  We will now have 6 kids to tak eon our adventures. We took a day in Zion's National Park on our way down to Vegas and just finished up a trip to Yellowstone (driving through the Grand Tetons on the way home) with the Lyons.  It has been a fun few months. We will see if we make it to Bryce Canyon before our time is up.  Then we will have gone to all the national parks in Utah.

Nice Conversations...

So we have a lot of nice conversations at our house.  The first happened in the car 2 days ago and began with Lillie cursing Emma...that she wouldn't have any babies when she grew up.  Nice right?  Emma was sad and said, "Oh! I really wanted to have kids." After scolding Lillie and telling her we never say such things, we got out of the car to go into the house.  Abby climbed out and told Emma, "That is okay Emma, I would still be proud of you even if you don't have any babies."  Oh! That is too sweet.  Emma replies, "If you have twins would you give one up?"  Abby's quick response, "No."  Apparently her sweetness extends only so far.

This morning Lillie stuffed a ball down her pants to hide it from her siblings and therefore ensuring she could keep it.  What she didn't count on was Emma seeing it and saying, "You look like a boy!" And then singing, "Lillie has peanuts! Peanuts!"  If you don't know what peanuts are you might refer to my last post.  I suppose it is time to have a "nice conversation" with Emma about getting older and things we should or should not say.

The Joy of a Boy! The Recent Adventures of Ryan.

So my Ryan Boy is pretty hilarious.  He does things my girls would never think of.  Anyone who thinks that boys and girls are born the same is just well...wrong.  Ryan ran into the living room the other day completely naked and announced to all his sisters in the room while shaking his body, "You see my peanuts! My peanuts!"  much to his sisters' dismay.  I'm pretty sure a few "gross" and "yucky"s flew around.

Recently my son informed me, "My privates are big.  My privates are REAL big."  That is definitely a man thing-they are the only ones obsessed with size.

On the drive the other day (Ryan had just watched  a show where the bad guys climb onto the hero's car to try to get him).  We were pretending there were bad guys on our car and we were making punching noises and moving our arms to get the bad guys off.  We even had to swerve a little to get the bad guys off our car (I'm sure the other drivers on the road appreciated my efforts at entertaining my son). This whole time Katie and Abby are just sitting in their sits watching us like we are crazy because like I said, boys are different than girls.  When I stopped the car and we got out, Ryan said "Look out Mom there's a bad guy right there."  He punched the imaginary bad guy and said "I got him!"  I thanked him for helping me.  He told me that is what he does.  I asked him if he was "super-boy"? "No." he responded.  "Oh. A ninja?"  "No, I you boy."  I hope he will always stay my boy!
